약속하다(Promise), 믿음, 확신, 거짓, 의심, 위선, 사기에 관련된 말들...

약속은 appointment 와 promise가 있는데

 

 

appointment는 시간ㆍ장소 같은 구체적인 약속을 뜻하고

 

 

 

promise는 주로 "~을 보장해준다"는 의미로 쓰임에 주의해야 한다.

You have my word..내 말을 믿어도 좋다...

약속해~~

또 구어체에서 많이 쓰이는 표현으로..

 

약속하는 거여? 이라는 것으로  Deal 이 있다

 

예를 들면

 

Could you buy me a computer game if I get a perfect score in english test?

 

well (글쎄), if you promise me not to play computer game too much

 

I promise. then you will buy me a CD.. deal?

 

OK ! Deal!

 

 

 

또한 알았어 라는 말로 That's a deal

 

별일 아니야 it's no big deal

 

왜이리 난리야 what's big deal?

Trust 신용하다

 

Believe 믿다

 

사실 trust나 believe는 둘다 믿다라는 표현이지만

 

Trust는 목적어로 주로 사람이 오며 주로 신뢰하다는 의미로 쓰이며

 

 

I trust you completely...

 

Whatever happens, I trust you...

 

He is trustful 그는 믿음직 한 사람이다..

 

trustful도 많이 쓰이지만 trusted 도 많이 쓰인다

 

Saxophone is trusted friend

 

기만적인, 현혹적인 Deceptive

Believe는 뒤에 어떤 사실이 주로 오며 그렇다고 믿는다는 의미이며 be sure보다는 약한 의미이다. 사실 논문에서도 많이 쓰이는 표현이다...(주로 수동태로...)

Doubtful, question, suspect, suspicious.....를 주로 쓴다....

I doubt whether he deserve the prize...

 

Civic group question cheonan report 시민단체는 천안함 보고서에 의혹을 제기 하다...

 

 

 

 

I am supposed to meet here...~하기로 되어 있어

 

He pretend to know the truth..He lied to me...

 

 

YOu are not supposed to be here..넌 여기 있으면 안되자나...

 

논문에서는 확신을 한다는 표현은 주로

 

Confirm, ascertarin (=establish와 비슷한 의미로 쓰인다)

As far as I know, Apparently 내가 아는 바로는, 겉보기로는 ....확실치 않을때 문두에 표현하는 말...
